Artists Needed to Participate in Tshirt Design Contest!

The Child Abuse Prevention Run, ‘Run the Rapids’ is a fundraising event for the Wood County Task Force on Child Abuse. 100% of the funds raised by the run go back into local programs to help children and families who may be living in violent or neglectful situations.  Every child deserves a loving home.

T-shirt Design Contest Rules:

• All entries must be post marked by January 18, 2010.
• Open to children in grades K-6 that reside in Wood County or are enrolled in a school in Wood County or are enrolled in a school in the Wisconsin Rapids School District.
• Designs should be 8 1/2” x 11” in size (front design only.  No sleeve or back design).
• Entry should include the child’s first and last name, parent(s)/guardian(s) name, address, phone number and enrolled school (if any).
• All designs must be original art.  No copyrighted images.
• Designs are limited to 3 colors (one must be blue).

• Hands are for ________, not for hitting. 
  (For example: “hands are for clapping, not for hitting”).
• Children are our future.
• Speak up for a child.
• Designs should be positive in nature and highlight ways to promote healthy families.
• Designs with tobacco, firearms, alcohol, violence or sexual connotations will not be accepted.

• The winning design will appear on the 2010 CAP Run shirts, also including but not limited to brochures, fliers and affiliated websites.
• Preliminary judging of all entries will be conducted by CAP Run Committee members.  Judging will be blind and based on the afore mentioned criteria as well as creativity and aesthetic appeal.  The committee will narrow the submissions to the top ten (10) submissions.
• Preliminary contest winners will be notified by phone on or about February 1, 2010.
• A link to the top ten (10) submissions will be posted on the CAP Run website (www.runtherapids.org).  This link will allow voters to view each of the top ten (10) submissions as well as the entrants first name, last initial and enrolled school (if any).
• Voting will take place via the link/website from February 8, 2010-February 12, 2010.
• The design contest winner will be notified by phone no later than February 19, 2010.

• 1st place:  Free registration for CAP Run; (1) free t-shirt for child and each of child’s parent(s)/guardian(s) (limit 2); one framed entry for the child and one framed entry to be hung at the child’s school; recognition at the CAP Run.
• Top 10:  Certificate of recognition.
• (1) t-shirt will be provided to each pre-registered runner/walker.
• T-shirts will also be available for sale on the CAP Run website (www.runtherapids.org).
