  • Tailgating in Wisconsin Rapids!
    The Finance and Property Committee recently made a recommendation to allow fans of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters baseball team to enjoy tailgating parties at the summer games. Open liquor containers are illegal in Wisconsin Rapids. However in a unanimous decision, the committee approved a request from the Rafters to suspend the open container ordinance. Additionally, the new provisions would allow overnight parking in the Witter Field Lincoln Street parking lot. The Wisconsin Rapids Common Council will consider this recommendation at their March 16 meeting.
  • DNR Releases Final Deer Kill Numbers for 2009
    The DNR is reporting that the number of deer killed in Wisconsin for the 2009 deer hunting season was 329,103. The total includes antlerless, antlered and deer recorded as “unknown.” In 2008, the total deer harvest (excluding tribal kills) was 352,601. In 2007, the take was 402,563.
  • Home Show at LHS March 13-14
    Lincoln High School will be hosting the Central Wisconsin Homebuilders' home show March 13 and 14. The event serves as a venue for home owners—as well as prospective home owners—to get new ideas about building, remodeling and general home improvement projects. There will be an opportunity for attendees to check out new products, the latest in home-related technology and also attend seminars including “New Design Trends and Easy Updates for the Home” and “Hybrid Heat—Go Green & Save Green”...
  • Moe Hill to appear at Rafters second home game
    The greatest player in the history of both the Midwest League and the Wisconsin Rapids Twins is coming back to Witter Field. He will have his number 24 retired and be available to re-connect with fans at the second ever Rafters home game on Monday, June 7 at 7:05 pm vs. the Eau Claire Express.
